In addition to writing his own poetry, Kevin FitzPatrick was also the editor and publisher of The Lake Street Review.

The Lake Street Review was a regional Midwest publication that was started in 1976 and continued on till 1991.  It was a literary journal that pioneered publication of work by emerging local writers.  Kevin explained, “The name Lake Street Review reflects the idea of the publication- an urban point of view, regional or local, non-academic.  I wanted to publish things that were readable, accessible and about our lives.” It was also important to Kevin that The Lake Street Review was a magazine people could afford. In 1991 Kevin ended the  LSR to devote more time to his poetry writing. *
